Breaking our club record, a total of 10 teams represented Louisiana Soccer Association and LA FIRE SC in Greenville, South Carolina for the USYS Regional Championships between June 18th and June 24th, 2021.

Our 05G Louisiana Fire Red booked their second consecutive trip to USYS Nationals by prevailing in their National League playoff bracket. By beating Idaho Rush 3-1 and drawing Minnesota’s Tonka Fusion 1-1, it set up a must win Sunday matchup against California Legends. In a hotly contested match that played out like a final, Chloe Burst assisted Jane Schneider with a well delivered corner kick that Jane turned a headed ball goal from outside the six yard box. It was Jane’s fourth goal of the weekend, and Chloe’s second assist. Bella Reynolds and Stella Martin also chipped in with a goal and an assist, respectively. Team defense was exceptional throughout the weekend against top flight opposition, punctuated by a tremendous save by keeper Olivia Icamina as Fire held off Legends’ comeback attempt.

Dear Louisiana Fire Families,

While the Covid-19 pandemic has been challenging in many respects, it has given our organization the opportunity to accelerate the comprehensive review of our organization.

As we return to play on the field, we also return with a new logo and a redefined purpose.

The new logo is representative of both our past and our future:

  • We are Louisiana Fire Soccer Club.

  • The inclusion of Louisiana in our name reflects the fact that the club draws players from across the greater New Orleans area and from various cities in southeastern Louisiana.

  • The name Fire combined with the gold is reflective of the saying “Fire is the Test of Gold,” which means that adversity is necessary for a person to achieve his/her true potential.

  • The four points of the X represent Hurricane Katrina, which is the event that brought the four clubs together via merger (Lafreniere, Lakeview, Carrolton, and with PAC joining later).

  • The four stars represent our four core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Equity.

  • The outline of the soccer ball represents the sport we play.

  • The modified fleur de lis represents the New Orleans area.

  • The top of the fleur de lis is shaped like a flame to represent fire, while the pentagon at the bottom of the fleur de lis represents soccer.

Our goal remains to educate your children through the sport of soccer.  We believe that soccer provides the best education in all of sports, through teamwork, confidence, discipline, character, adversity, and on field problem solving.

We have developed a “Pathway for All” concept that will benefit all players, at all ages and at all stages of development.  We will continue to maintain a relationship with Chicago Fire.  We have recently added relationships with Houston and Austin for our female players.  We will also have the ability to expand relationships with other amateur and professional clubs.

Our curriculum now covers training sessions and progressions for all age groups and all programs.  The objective is for each player to reach his/her goals.

We have also expanded our financial assistance program, such that our organization is available to anyone who wants to play.  The “Let Them Play” campaign is critical to this initiative.

In closing, I would like to reiterate the commitment of the Board of Directors to our players, to our coaches, and to our parents.  Every challenge is an opportunity for growth, and Covid-19 is no different.   We will emerge from this stronger and more focused on executing our mission.  I want to thank you again for the tremendous support I have received in my two years as President and ask for your continued support and patience as we work to make our organization even better.

Sincerely,

Nick Danna

President
